May 19th - Last Day of School for Kindergarten- Students should come to school at normal time. The Program @ 9am- Students may wear Sunday best. Students leave for summer vacation after program.

March 9, 2017 - Jog-a-Thon
We ran 12 or 13 laps around the field during Jog-a-Thon. Our 7th grade buddies were very tired. Great Job Kinders!

March 7, 2017- As we prepare for Easter Sunday, we are learning how to pray the Stations of the Cross. This week we prayed the 15 stations in the back of the church.
March 3, 2017 - For the Love of Reading Week, we had a special guest. Jack's Aunt Chris, who is a teacher in North Carolina came and read to our class "Dinosaurs Love Tacos". Jack also read a book to the class, that made us laugh.
March 2, 2016 - Happy Birthday Dr. Suess! - Mrs Vu came to our classroom and read "Oh, the Places We Will Go!" and we had Grinch snacks. It was a fun morning!
February 22,2107-We made western vest and there are 16 new sheriffs in town.

February 14, 2107 -Happy Valentines Day! We had a great party with games, ice cream and all the wonderful Valentine Cards!
February 2, 2017 - Groundhog Day! We used a sundial in the courtyard and looked at our shadows. We learned that our shadows looked like us, grew longer as the morning got later, and they followed us everywhere.

January 9, 2017 - Our Gingerbread people arrived back in Tucson on the first day back to school!
They travel to Germany, Guam, Japan, North Carolina, Texas, San Diego, Chino Valley and Phoenix. The children loved the post cards and pictures.

December 9, 2016 - We learn that Mary loved God so much she said "Yes" to God and became the mother of Jesus. We created our own statue of mary to remind us we should also say "Yes" to God.
Deember 5, 2016 - Students were given 50 green cups to build the tallest Christmas tree using only the 50 cups. They had a great time figuring out the best design. We also learned about conifer or evergreen trees and how they are always green no matter the season.
November 21, 2016 - Thank you to Station # 7 and Mr. Rogers for the wonderful chance to see a fire truck close up. We saw all the fire tools, clothing and even got to sit inside the fire truck. Mr. Rogers dressed in his fire gear so the children would learn to run toward a fire person in case of a fire instead of being afraid and running away. We also saw the ladder at its full extension. It was taller than the pine trees in the back of the school. Thank you again Station # 7.
November 14, 2016 - We have many things to be thankful for this year and we wrote a few on our Thanksgiving turkeys.

Nov 8, 2016 - Election Day and We Voted! We read the story "Duck for President" and then voted if the Farmer or Duck should run the farm. The Duck won by a landslide 14 - 1.
October 28,2016 - Happy Halloween! We had the best party ever!!
October 21st, 2016 - Our first science experiment allowed us to explore pumpkins. We weighed them, measure how tall they were, counted their ribs, measured their circumference, estimated how many seeds and then counted all the seeds by placing them in groups of tens. Finally, we carved them for our Halloween party.
October 5th, 2016 - Bats come in many colors and sizes, but all their babies are called pups. We also learned we need bats to keep insects from eating our vegetables and fruits.
October 4th, 2016 - The children heard "Leaf Man" by Lois Ehlert. In the story, fallen fall leaves turn into animals, trees, vegetables and fruits as the wind blows. We created our own Leaf people and animals out of foam leaves.
October 3rd, 2016 - The students learned that leaves have green Chlorophyll in them when there is plenty of sun light, water and oxygen. When the weather begins to change in the fall, the leaves begin to lose their chlorophyll and start to change colors. Come see our Fall leaves !
September 28th, 2016 - Thank you for the 20 boxes of Mac-N-Cheese for
St. Vincent dePaul. The children know that God wants us to help those in need and they can help others even thou they are 5 and 6 years old.

September 26th,2016 - We meet with our 7th grade buddies to celebrate Johnny Appleseeds Birthday! We had wonderful apple treats and watch a movie about the life of Johnny Appleseed.
September 14th, 2016 - The students read Dr. Suess "Ten Apple Up On Top!" and saw how the animals placed apples on their heads and kept trying to increase the number of apples each time. Eventually, all the animals had 10 apples up on top of their heads. The students got apples to place on their head so we could make a number line with apples and then count to 10.
September 9, 2016 - For the last 5 weeks in religion, the children have been studying The Creation Story from the book of Genesis. The students can now retell The Creation Story by using their own story boards.
Aug 19, 2016 - To introduce Engineering in kindergarten, we built small tents to create shade.

God gave us light on the first day of creation. We also learned at times we need shade to protect us from the sun.
